I am thrilled to be selected as one of the finalists for the Grand Prix Fotofestiwal Lodz 2012 with my series ‘Unsettled’! The winning project will be presented during an individual exhibition at Fotofestiwal in May 2012. The works of the 9 finalists will be displayed in the form of a slide show during the main festival weekend (10-13 May 2012). It is then that the official results will be announced and the winner’s name will be revealed.

I am very happy to be part of the Ireland Fotofestival, with my series ‘Unsettled’ which will be held in Dublin from 1 – 31.7.2012. This years theme of the festival is Migrations; Diaspora & Cultural Identity. More specific information will follow later.

I am glad to be invited to take part in the main exhibition of the Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie, which is an International Photography Festival in Germany with my series ‘Unsettled’ which will be held from 20 – 22.4.2012.

The “Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie” is an international photography festival, that takes place on a yearly basis since 2004 and is meanwhile named as one of most important german photography events. It places relevant themes and cultivates an interdisciplinary discourse in the photography.

A whole weekend do numerous activities throw a light on the main theme from different perspectives: photography exhibitions, symposium and discussions are giving the examination with photography a unique concentration. A comprehensive catalogue is published to the festival.

This years theme is: Visual Traces in a Restless Present and will focus on photographic works exploring the transformations currently underway in our present life-worlds. What is happening today with our globalized, networked world that it seems so random and disordered? The complexity of the contemporary world demands the attention of human beings in search of self-certainties and new perspectives. The ongoing changes—whether perceived, self-induced, or caused by fate—affect the lives of human beings in both negative and positive ways. The festival will focus on photographic works exploring these transformations.

The Russian photography magazine ‘Foto & Video published a 4-page portfolio of my series ‘Unsettled’ in the November issue of 2011.
